Techready5: 7K Geeks in action

2 08 2007

This was my first TechReady event and was very well impressed with all the logistics of the event. With 44 parallel sessions and managing around 7K geeks 🙂 everything went surprisingly smoothly. Not much I can tell about what was disclosed in there, but rest assure that a lot of work is being put into place for new products/versions as well as for SPs, i.e. for Sharepoint Server family. That is actually one of the big bets of the company. Apart from the technical sessions, very little time was left to hang around, but still I could find a slot to go out on a spectacular sail in a 70 footer 🙂 ahhhh what a way to end the event 🙂

Slow postings lately

Hi there, not much has been going on at this blog. This is why: I’m not currently working in WSS/MOSS. Mid September should be the time when posts will be flying again 🙂

No news this week… no time to do it!

Thsi was a highly demanding week. At least the deployment is done and by now, only tunning and small adjustments are being made. This wek the extra effort went to a “after-hours” WCF course.

Untill now, I had only read a couple of articles on WCF, mostly on what you can do and bla bla bla. Now, I’ve been looking to the “user guide” and mainly to the best practices.

Let me tell you: it is VERY powerfull and therefore, its much more vast than I expected. For you to fully dig deep into WCF, start removing the dust from distributed computing, concurrency, transactions, security and try to grab some info on SOA.

My fealing: this will be the services platform for the years to come (untill the y come up with a new one 😉 ).

I’ll try to grab some pointers to a first look into WCF and will post an update.

Wide awake

Hi there, I’m starting this small contribution ion order to try to avoid you to fall in the traps i know exist or I’ve fallen into. The stones I leave behind should be safe, but I give no garanties whatsoever. This is my best efort and all code and information is presented AS IS. Other than that, please feel free to comment or extend any of the posted material.
